Kuruva Dweep is one of the popular tourist spots in Wayanad..It is located around 14 km from Mananthavady in the northern district of Wayanad..The place is a group of Islets formed from the tributaries of Kabini river in around 950 acres of forest..
There are two routes from Sulthan Bathery to reach Kuruva islands..
1) via Panamaram - Nadavayal - Beenachi Rd (38 km)
2) via Pulpally - Sultan Bathery High way (45km)
However we reached there in the first route which is also forest route, this includes a ferry ride..The place didn't excite me except from the ferry part..The water bodies place share some similarities with Maredumilli and Rampachodavaram forests in Andhra Pradesh..However it is huge area and wide region when compared to the former ones..The best thing about this place is the breathtaking greenery and birds..It is and ideal place for bird watchers as we can find very rare species of birds and different varieties of butterflies...
Here we go with the pictures,
