Karapuzha Dam - Kalpetta : Wayanad:Kerala

Staying in Wayanad is a blissful experience indeed..The heavenly Western Ghats with the beautiful landscapes offers spectacular view of the greenery wherever you go..Here,the misty mountains, lakes and grass fields are one of a kind with enchanting greenery all around..When you are having the luxury of staying here, every weekend you get to go somewhere just for a long drive, and you surely end up reaching some pretty good place to hang on..Karapuzha dam is one such place we visited last weekend..The dam is said to be one of the biggest earth dams in India built on Karapuzha river which was tributary of the Kabini River...We drove nearly half an hour from Sulthan Bathery to reach the place which is nearly 20 kms away from our town..The surroundings are still under construction..The guard told that there is a society for fishing in the river and the fishing was done in the early hours when the visitors are prohibited and the fish were send to markets in Ambalavayal for selling..

Here we go with the pics...

Most of the surroundings are still under construction...

You can spot a tribal colony amidst the blue waters..
