Athirampalli falls,Kerala

We were in God's own country..To see Athirampally falls in Kerala,we planned a two day trip on 2nd Oct'2010.Where ever our eyes reached we found total greenary. We started at Coimbatore in Kanya kumari express at 5.30 am on 2nd of Oct..As Palakkad crossed the window view filled with greenary every where to serve as a sign that its Kerala..We reached Chalakudi at 9 am and from there we got a bus to Athirampalli which is just 30 km from the town.Small tiny buses passing through narrow green roads reached Athirampally at around 11 am.We had our stay in a cottage in "Riverok Villas" which is 1 km from the scenic spot. The place was very good. It is on the bank of the river. We have some time to spend for the cab to come and my little kid who is very much fond of water enjoyed the bath at the river which is just in front of our stay.

A sunny morning view.....:-)

On a rainy day

The stones tell us so many stories...

Vazhacal falls.....

After lunch we rushed to sight seeing which includes Athirampalli falls,Cherpa falls (another 3 km),Vazhachal falls (5km) and Anakayam eco tourism spot..It was a rainy day and we became totally wet but the view in such a climate was fantastic. It is said to be Indian Nayagara, an 80 feet water fall. Manirathnam's Raavan was picturised in the same location. We are very much delighted to enjoy the scenic beauty in the heavy rain. We want to spend more time there but the heavy rain has not let us stay longer. We were very tired after reaching the cottage but we relaxed watching the scenic beauty from our balcony and enjoying the music of the river flow. The lights reflecting on wet green grass is like pearls in lawn looked amazing.Who ever need a leasure trip can opt this place. The driver cum guide Mr.Sudheer,a very friendly person with a smiling face always guided us  in a nice way.The lounge at our stay....In heavy rain it is like a pearl carpet....:-) With a book in our hands we can have a great time..There is no noise of metro life...Only the sound of rain drops...

The tired lane in the evening....

Next day again we went to see Athirampally falls. Its a sunny day.But we loved the yesterday view of falls than today. From there we went to down hill to see the full view of waterfalls..The wet rocks are awesome with scattering showers in sun light. It was just breath taking. No words to describe.Hey all you people must have seen it in Raavan I think.:-)..To see the real beauty of the spot, one must visit the down hill, even travelling in that path is a bit difficult. .Spent some time here and there and roamed on the calm roads covered with greenary.Reached our stay and had some delicious lunch. After that reached Chalakudi in the same vehicle with in 40 min. and caught Cape Mumbai express at 2.15 pm.Reached home at 6 pm same day.It would be really cool if we could stay there for one more day.Missing the greenary around.
