After visiting Sangla valley our next visiting point was Chitkul,the untouched,unpolluted remote village of Himachal Pradesh...Chitkul is the last inhabited village of India and situated at the Indo-Tibetan border..It is just 28km from Sangla valley..The quite and calm village is situated on the banks of Baspa river in Kinnaur dt...The place is wide spread with beautiful snow mountains and landscapes....We reached Chitkul around 11 am and we spent there till evening...We choose to stay at Sangla,because Chitkul is not having good enough facilities for a stay..Extremely cold climate is the primary reason for less population here (around 500)..Our road trip was simply fantastic,from Sangla to Chitkul (via Rakcham) the way is simply amazing with great scenic spots..We reached Sangla before sunset..It was an absolutely wonderful drive and a beautiful experience to remember..

This is the most interesting thing that caught our attention in Chitkul...The wheat flour mill..It was running by water current..Free of cost..The village people pour wheat in the mill and then they collect flour from it...

The apple gardens...The valley is filled with four colors Blue,Yellow,Green and White..Certainly it was a great combination .:-)

Nice post again. Many things of interest. Like the flour mill and the last dhaba of India. I think I saw an advert about the flour mill that runs on solar/wind power, some time back. Cant remember exactly what it was. But the set up was entirely different. It was north-east for certain. (in the advertisememnt). Iam eager to know abt ur next stopover.
