Again, here I'm ! In my cozy little corner to catch my breath. It's too peoply out there.
Strangely since my childhood I used to hang out with people who are much much older to me. I don't know why, perhaps I'm wise beyond my years or my maturity levels match with them. But nowadays I'm getting bored or I'm not enjoying their company as much as I do. Not being judgmental or generalizing anything but after reaching certain age all that left to people to talk about is money, savings, health, diet, memories and nostalgic stuff. Nothing new, nothing exciting. After certain age perhaps we all become so comfortable in our own skin that we stop learning new things. Perhaps after certain time people become so rigid and boring. Not many people seem open to new ideas or trying new things, basically all they lack is enthusiasm. They repeat doing the same things, talk about the same things. I'm sure one day I'll become the same, but not yet anyway.
But when I see elders in my own family in a recent get together, they are all very happy in their own world. Because they have something common to talk about. Their health, childhood memories, food and other nostalgic stuff. All aged people at one place, I though that is where they belong. They need people from their own age groups so that they can share similar things, similar interests. Some of us left out to form another group for our little chit chat. What they say 'generation gap' :) Nowadays Facebook is mostly used by aged people and Instagram is used by younger generation. I'm not sure where I belong. But whenever I get bored or exhausted I slowly slip away from one place to another. Only to enjoy the best of both worlds without belonging anywhere. And then I retreat here, in my own space, far far from the maddening crowd :)
I remembered my favourite Gibran's quote on this occasion,
Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry,
the philosophy which does not laugh
and the greatness which does not bow before children. - Kahlil Gibran.
