Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers
Banasura Sagar Dam is another tourist place in Wayanad. It is known to be the largest earth dam in India and the second largest of its kind in Asia..It is situated around 15 km from Kalpetta,Wayanad..Also this place is surrounded by the chain of mountains..It is constructed on the Banasura Lake..There is a popular story about the name of these hills, legends say that the Asura king of Banasura, (the son of King Mahabali, who is believed to visit Kerala during every Onam festival) undertook a severe penance on the top of these hills and thus it was named after him..It's best time to visit this place in monsoons to see the clouds floating over the lush green mountains.

Here are few pics from our visit..
