This year our Diwali was so special...You know we celebrated this festival at Dharamshala,in the main streets of McLeod Ganj...The festival celebration among Tibetan monks,Foreigners and Indians was really a memorable one for us...It was lot of fun....Diwali night we had our food at Mcllo restaurant...
Dharamshala is situated in Kangra District,Himachal Pradesh..It is very famous for the Buddhist Monastery which is at MecLeod ganj area..It is the residence of Dalai Lama ..McLeod Ganj is engrossed with the exiled Tibetan population..Our travel was started from Manali via Palampur in a cab..It is 235 km away from Manali and 8hrs journey by road..You also cross Pathankot (5hrs.from Manali) while driving to Dharamshala..
The first thing we went to see is the Bhagsunag Falls...But it is not so easy to see this as you need to climb half a mountain to reach the place..On the way to the falls are beautiful stones and it is very beautiful view
The Tibetan Monks washing their cloths..
The women with colourful clothing always caught my attention...:-)
The China Palak..
The view of Dharamshala from the Monastery at McLeod Ganj..
The entrance of Buddhist Monastery...In this temple complex called Tsuglag khang Complex in McLeod Ganj you can also see a Tibetan Museum, book shop etc..It is also the residence of Dalai Lama.
Lord Buddha
People believe,by touching each and every Golden coloured prayer wheel in one particular direction one's wish will be fulfilled..:-)
The prayer wheels at Tsuglagkhang temple..
The Tibet Rasthriya Shaheed Smarak
A Tibetan Woman selling Momos...
The main street of Mecleod ganj
The next place worth visiting in Dharamshala is Norbulingka Institute which was established for preserving Tibetan culture and art. It was established by Dalai Lama and got its name from his official residence situated at Lhasa. Here are the pictures of the institute..Where you can learn about the Tibetan culture and traditions..I really loved this place..:-) Here are the pics..
The Tibetan art inside the institute....
