Pluck this little flower and take it, delay not! I fear lest it droop and drop into the dust.
I may not find a place in thy garland, but honour it with a touch of pain from thy hand and pluck it.
I fear lest the day end before I am aware, and the time of offering go by.
Though its colour be not deep and its smell be faint, use this flower in thy service and pluck it while there is time.
--- Flower by Rabindranath Tagore

Your painting is fresh and spontaneous.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Tagor's poem though. I believe flower are better on the plants, when they droop and drop they become food (manure) for the plants. Birds and animals are better in their natural environment, than in cages and zoos.
Plants and animals (except civilized human animals) are part of Natural Environment-Ecology-Energy the holy trinity of Mother Nature - SRISHTI - are our needed for our survival.
Wonderful creation.....

@A Homemaker's Utopia
ReplyDeleteNagini, I too like Tagor's poems. I recite "Where the mind is free..." as a prayer. But I never take him as an ultimate or authority. In fact I take no one as authority, and though I am author, I don't claim any authority.
Cheers!
